Anzac Day is probably closest to the Memorial Day holiday in the USA. It commemorates the mighty fights in Turkey etc. during Word War 1 mainly at Gallipoli.

It is our tradition to roast a leg of lamb on the BBQ generally smoked with ridgy didge gum leaves. However, the weather was gloomy and occasionally wet so instead of the Weber I used the gas BBQ and did not bother with the gum leaves.

We were joined by the Benbows – Gary, Jess and Mitchell and had a roaring good time with lamb, salads from Jan and the odd pressed grape.
