Monday, 17 September, 2018 – Third Day in Copenhagen
The weather is again fairly warm and nice. It is also Julie’s first dayat the autonomous vehicles conference. We hear from her that her paper has been published in the conference journal along with Son Peter’s clever drawing of an autonomous vehicle with a learner permit. Peter was also acknowledged. We did not hear from Julie again until she returned home at the end of the day.
So Ryan and I head out to the Red Bus to catch a ride to where the Blue Boat is berthed. Same crappy music as the day before (I did not mention it in yesterday’s post but it was an instrumental on continuous loop and really grated after a while).
As you can see, there is no cover at all and the sky is very threatening. Other boats we see have cover available and are a lot more luxurious. We follow them around most of the day.
I did not take any photos of the scenery as we had seen much of it from the bus already and after all this is a food and wine blog, not a scenes and sites. The boat also did not take the promised routs some of the time.
Any way, we get off the bus at the dock where we started after a couple of hours and decide we wold rather walk back rather then troop along the red bus path that we did yesterday. We were a bit hungry so decided to stop at a hotdog cart for a bite.
They were very good sausages but it turned out that with conversion to AUD and overseas charges this little snack cost AUD $68. Geez, the snag from the bratwurst shop at the Vic Market is much better and a quarter the price.
We take a different rout back through the financial and shopping districts but it still is a long way home. I am tired and sore again when we arrive.
Julie comes home and said she had a really hard day. When Ryan quizzes here, repeatedly she said she was stressed from opposition to her view questions. After continual clarifications sought, she admitted that it was she was afraid there would be not that there actually was. She followed by Prince Fred, who was a poor speaker, and her speech went well. She met some other interesting people on the panel and had good discussions with them.
We make a booking at a place that is very close to us, Restaurant Cofoco. It is a Monday night, and like many other places around the world, most restaurants are closed. The earliest booking we could get is 8:30 which we have to take as there is nothing else. Too late for Tanika to eat.
Cofoco is just a short distance but sadly we walk right by it and go a long distance out of the way, all the way back to the train station and past our house again before we see it on the second time around. Inside, we are given a menu but then no waitress approach for nearly 30 minutes, I was ropable. An way, once a waitress finally approached us we got excellent service but that long delay at the start was horrible. The food was also excellent. I cannot recall what some of the dishes were but show them any way.
An interesting day with ups and downs for all.
