Michellin Star, that is.
After Breakfast, Frank, Julie and John (from the tour group) head to a local market, El Mercat de Sanata Catarina, to purchase supplies. The idea is that Frank will put on a cooking demonstration of some of his favourites – in a local cooking school. When the rest of the group gets together, we learn from Casey that the Cooking School had double booked and plans have to be changed. She has been able to organise a switch of the Monday & Tuesday activities.
So, we head to the market and meet the shoppers and have a coffee. We then tour around the market and it is quite impressive. It is of comparable size of the Vic market with everything thing in doors and the stalls are all like the deli stalls at Vic market. There are a large number of seafood stalls and it is impressive to see them cutting up the fish with these massive knives. The “rabbit scissors” are also impressive.
At Noon we head out to a 90 minute bus ride to Sagas to head to a one Michellin restaurant “Els Casals”. Well, it was supposed to be 90 minutes but the driver got lost and drove well past it way up in the hills. Eventually he stopped and asked a local and we went back down and finally found it. We were to do a private tour of the working farm and vegetable gardens but that was postponed until after lunch.
And what a lunch it was. This and the following pages show the various courses, as usual I did not bother with the desserts, there were two of them. Some decent wine, locally produc

Some decent wine, locally produced was also on offer.Note the home grown tomatoes on the table
