We have an early flight out of NOLA. We are picked up from out Hotel by Sasha, our cabbie from the first day. Uneventful taxi ride, check-in etc. We decide to have a snack to start the day and go to Zatarains which is well known to me as a supplier of spices and the like.

We are flying to Philadelphia to tour around several Civil War Battlefields. The flight is uneventful, our bags come off the plane in good time, the car rental is a little slow but OK and eventually we are on the road, GB driving. The idea is to first go to Lancaster, where my Mother was born, to see Amish people, perhaps have Amish lunch and go to the Outlet Shops just out of Lancaster. Well, the latter overtook all other goals and we spent a few hours there with GB filling his suitcase in the Nautilus shop and more at the Nike shop. I broke my cardinal rule about never buying stuff because it was cheaper but bought Levis (so much cheaper than Australia) and socks and jocks from Jockey. Julie did not buy anything!

We then proceed to our AirBnB accommodation which is labelled as a “Civil War Hospital” which is haunted by Ghost from the Civil War. We meet Stefani, our host, who is absolutely delightful Her haunted farm house is tremendous too. I don’t want to short circuit AirBnB too much so here is their link to Stefani, who I gave a 5 start rating:

We have not had much to eat today so we go back into down town Gettysburg for a meal. The first place we run into is a French restaurant which looks like it will do us fine.

We walk around town for a bit and then go back to the farmhouse. We get there before Stefani and when she arrives we have some more charming discussion. I don’t want to spoil her story but when you stay there, please ask her about the Ghosts. They did not bother us during the night, a good sleep.
