Julie is up early and walks all over town including out to Morro Rock.

We all take turns with the single bathroom and go out for Breakfast. Here is another bonus from yesterday, we have vouchers for a full breakfast from the second rated restaurant in town! That turned out to be another $53 saving.

A very bad pun. Anyway, we really enjoyed that Breakfast.

We go back to the Motel to pack up and go. We have a spare bottle of wine which we have Pat give to the owner of the Motel and he is very grateful. Of course, I am still being lead out as a total cripple. We are to drive to Santa Barbara for our last night in the USA. It is not very far away, so we decide to go to Solvang on the way. The first stop is the Split Pea factory where I have participated in the following photo several times since we first went here in 1961.

We drive into Solvang which I remembered as a small, cute Danish town. Well, now it is much larger with faux Danish architecture everywhere. Not really interesting to me at all. After walking around for a while, we drive into Santa Barbara proper. We check into our Motel which is quite OK, albeit Tom has to lug our suitcases up the stairs. I decide to have a rest while the girls go out over town. It is not long before Pat is back, I used the term “Julie left Pat in her dust”.

There is music noise from the cafe below for which I was concerned about for getting to sleep that night, so I complain to the Front Desk. They do something about it and the music has stopped before we go out.

For dinner we are going to Bouchon, the fifth ranked restaurant in Santa Barbara.

Back to the Motel for a few more wines and then sleep ahead of the big day of flying tomorrow (actually 3 days).
