Monday, 21 April

We have a bit of a snack for breakfast and then go out to the wine country. But first, we go to another battlefield – Manassas. Well, it was supposed to be Manassas but we drive and drive through Manassas and don’t run into anything. We turn around and eventually find Bull Run outside Manassas. It was also quite an interesting Battlefield.

We then come back to go to a couple of Virginia wineries recommended by Tareq.

This winery is structured for food and wine pairing through their entire range.

One of the things that this farm is famous for is their short horses. Caused by biological change over time.

We go to another winery which is quite nice, but no photos.

We decided to invite Tareq to an Aussie BBQ at his place, apparently we were the first to have done so. I did some chook shaslicks; JV some salad and GB a sterling job on the BBQ with the Pork, Steak and Kebabs.

A really good night with some of Tareq’s premium wine. He is quite a celebrity – ask him about it when you stay there or Google it.

Off to bed as we need to move out tomorrow.
