We leave Tareq’s fine home to go to Richmond for tonight. We stop off a Fredricsburg, which was a nice town. We go to the visitors centre, see a good film history and stop for coffee.

We go onto Richmond. We stop by an old Hospital / museum – the Chimborazo Medical Museum. We then go to the Civil War Visitor Center at Tredegar Iron Works. The Richmond Iron Works were quite famous for providing a lot of the iron for the USA before the Civil War and then armaments for the South during the Civil War. We see films about the battles around Richmond and also Tredegar Iron works and its rebuilding..

We drive away from Tredegar to go to our accommodation but find that we are in a restaurant row. We decide to go to one if we can find a parking place, which we do. We select the Hardshell. It is restaurant week in Richmond with some specials but we decide to order off the menu.

We go to our accommodation which is listed as a two-room suite on the hill. In fact, it is a two story house and we are sharing the living quarters with our hostess Kirsten Hazler.

We arrive home ahead of her and put our stuff in our bedrooms, careful not to let the cats out. Kirsten arrives home and is a delightful young lady (everyone is young compared to us). We have a long chat and her Boyfriend shows up. They are musicians that appear around in various venues. They do a practice in the backyard which we interpret as s special concert for us.

Any way, quite a good day and we have a good sleep.
