We drive down to Carmel with two cars to accommodate Daisy. Once again my glorious parking sticker comes in very handy. Our first stop is at “Doris Day’s Dog friendly Moorish/Mediterranean Hotel”, the Cypress Inn. There are all sorts of movie bills of her on the wall, e.g. Pillow Talk with Rock Hudson, and Calamity Jane playing on a TV.
We make a reservation for dinner in the bar there. We then walk around Carmel for quite a while although I find it not that interesting because it is mostly tourist shops. We stop for lunch in another of Barbara’s favourites, an Italian style place called Little Napoli. We sit in the Courtyard where Daisy settles in with us. I had forgotten my Camera and Phone so no photos of mine, but after the fact I have inserted photos taken by Julie.

After all, we had bypassed Gilroy, the garlic capitol of the world, on our way to Monterrey.

We return back to the house although Julie is dropped off at Trader Joes and prances around for several hours. For dinner, we go back to Doris Day’s restaurant where we had made a reservation. Our waiter pointed out that it was Cinco de Maio but this was not a Mexican Restaurant nor were there any Mexican dishes on the menu. The Waiter is a bit of a comedian for when I order a Syrah for our wine he says it is the hallmark of the restaurant as in Que Sera, Sera – chortle.

Home and to bed early(er) tonight for on the road again tomorrow.
